Open House at Anchor Press, Paper and Print, 1-3pm. $10-15 suggested donation, pay at door. Simple bookmaking workshop--we will have paper, stamps, ink and bring your typewriter if you want.

About the event
In 1868, Milwaukee's Christopher Latham Sholes patented one of the first commercially made typewriters creating a new form of communication that changed the world, from business documents to periodicals to the love letter, one piece of paper – or carbon paper – at a time.
June 23, 2023 is National Typewriter Day and the year marks the 150-year anniversary of Shole's invention. A small group of writers, artists and teachers believe this is long-overdue for a celebration and so, we present the first-ever QWERTYFEST MKE.
QWERTYFEST MKE will take place June 23-25, 2023 in numerous locations throughout Milwaukee.
