ABOUT US

Anchor Press, Paper & Print (AP3) is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) community-based printmaking studio. We aim to advance the fine art printmaking tradition through education, community events, and by providing studio access to printmakers from all walks of life.

AP3 creates partnerships with other arts, educational, and social organizations to bring people of all ages into this creative space. We provide a place for artists to make prints using our equipment for a monthly fee. We strive to make access to this equipment financially accessible through our weekly Open Studio night which offers a one-time cost. For those wishing to learn skills in printmaking and various paper-based arts, we offer workshops. Gallery Nina, located right inside our printmaking studio, brings printmaking and works on paper to the forefront. There are always community events happening at AP3, which we try to make accessible at little to no cost. Past events include Steamroller MKE, our Valentine's Day make-and-take, and the Fire + Water Artists' Book Festival. If cost is ever a barrier for you, please reach out to us to talk about scholarships. We want you here! We expect all who enter to be inclusive and welcoming to all fellow directors, members, studio users, and workshop participants. Discrimination will not be tolerated in any form.

We set anchor in Milwaukee at the House of RAD artist complex in 2022. The previous iteration of AP3, Anchor Graphics, was located in Chicago for 25 years. Between 1990 to 2015, Anchor Graphics published editions and offered workshops, shop access, artist-in-residence programs, internships, exhibitions, free lectures, and other community outreach programs. Now, with a new studio, new community, and new city, AP3 is open in Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood. Pictures and articles from our past are located below.
