About the event

AP3 is hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, June 7th from 1 - 5pm at Grove Gallery to offset the costs of moving into our new space. The studio that we currently occupy not only needs heavy maintenance, but we have outgrown it! To continue serving the growing need for community spaces focused on the arts, AP3 will move its studio this summer.

We invite the community to join us in celebrating this new step for our organization! During our fundraising event at Grove Gallery, we will be exhibiting our AP3 & Friends Portfolio which will be for sale. Join our live T-shirt printing and come check out the other ephemera available for purchase as well.

We are seeking to fundraise at least $10,000 to fund our studio expansion. This will cover lost revenue during the moving period, which includes pausing studio memberships, workshops, and space rentals. Our rent will be significantly increasing so we are preparing for this as well. AP3 is solely funded by the community that we have created. Be a part of the movement putting the press back into the hands of the people. If at all possible, we would love your support during this time of transition so that AP3 can continue to make printmaking possible!

Grove Gallery is located at: 832 S 5th St, Milwaukee, WI

Why donate to AP3?

Anchor Press, Paper & Print (AP3) is a non-profit community-based printmaking studio in Milwaukee, WI. We bring people from all walks of life into our studio for workshops, community events, artist talks, gallery openings, and so much more.

We work with schools and other non profits to bring in youth for hands on printmaking experiences that are rare to find anywhere else. Kids from Milwaukee as young as 1st grade all the way through 12th grade have worked with us through our partnership with Future Urban Leaders. Middle and high schoolers join us in our studio during Woodland Pattern's Summer Poetry Camp, and we bring in other teens for school field trips. We find these experiences to be highly valuable in a time where art classes are being stripped from schools.

AP3 offers studio memberships to printmakers looking to print their own editions. Before AP3 opened its doors, artists in Milwaukee had little to no options to express themselves through printmaking due to the lack of community studios and the barriers to owning print equipment. Artists commute here all the way from Illinois to use our studio!

Other programs that we run include internships, our Emerging Artist Residency, gallery shows focused on printmaking, the Fire + Water Artists' Book Festival, The Decisive Moment Photo Book Festival, and our Valentine's Day Make and Take. These are all run by volunteers.

Creating access to the arts for anyone interested in our main priority. We offer Open Studio Night every Tuesday which offers a one-time cost so people can use our studio for the night without purchasing a membership. This program is run by volunteers. Oftentimes, when someone shows a deep interest in a studio membership or workshop but cannot fund it themselves, AP3 offers reduced costs at our own expense. We need your support to continue helping our community members.
