About the Course:

Learn about the life and intaglio methods of renowned South African artist, William Kentridge. Some techniques students will utilize on their own plate will be drypoint, sugar and coffee lift and stage biting. The last class will include a Zoom discussion with Jillian Ross, master printer who has worked with Kentridge since 2006 and Liz Chalfin, Artist and founder of Zea Mays Printmaking, who introduced him to coffee lift. 

 

Students should have some printmaking experience. 

 

All basic materials are included in this course. Additional paper can be brought by the student.

Dates: Saturdays, January 4 - February 1 from 1-4:30 pm. (5 sessions)

 

Three people are necessary for this workshop to run. If we do not reach that amount we will refund those who signed up and cancel the workshop
