About the course:

This class focuses on the work and methods of artist Käthe Kollwitz. Students will receive a 5"x7" prepared plate and will create their own etching. Some of the printmaking methods Kollwitz used in her etchings, such as soft ground, sandpaper aquatint and the use of needle bundles, will be demonstrated and explored. Students will go home with prints of different states of their etchings. The class will conclude with a field trip to MAM to see and discuss Kollwitz etchings in person. All levels are welcome.
